LAKE ERIE GRAPHICS RECEIVES CERTIFICATION FROM THE
RAINFOREST ALLIANCE

Local printer gains certification for environmentally safe paper

BROOK PARK, February 7, 2008 - Environmentally conscious businesses now have another choice when it comes to buying printing. Lake Erie Graphics, Inc. has been awarded a SmartWood Chain-of-Custody Certification from the Rainforest Alliance, in compliance with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) guidelines. Bill Bartinelli and Jim Dietz, owners of Lake Erie Graphics, made the announcement.

This certification ensures that all FSC certified paper that is purchased from Lake Erie Graphics has been produced using practices that will not deplete resources or negatively impact the environment or local communities. The certification will help Lake Erie Graphics monitor the supply chain, verifying all FSC paper is from replanted forests or recycled materials.

“The FSC certification is another step in our continuous commitment to being a 'green' printer,” said Bartinelli. “We are excited to implement this certification program, in addition to the recycling systems we already have in place, to be a part of the solution.”

Consumers will be able to easily identify FSC certified by paper by an official seal of approval. This seal will guarantee consumers that the products they are buying are the result of practices balancing ecological, economic, and social considerations.
