Graphic design tips Tip #1: A great design tool that doesn't get much attention is the Kuler extension that can be found in all the Adobe design programs. Just select Window in any of the programs and hover over “Extensions.” Kuler is one of the options in the flyout panel. Select it and you'll be able to search through various color palettes created by other designers and uploaded for you to use for your next project. Tip #1: Many times in InDesign, your page size will be 8.5" x 11", but not always. If you find yourself always designing or placing images that are a certain size, create a page size preset. Go to your applications folder or your Program folder > Presets > Pages Sizes > en_US > New Doc Sizes.txt Open this file using a text editor. It will give you examples of how to format the text at the very bottom of the document to create a preset page size for InDesign. Here's an example: Business Card 3.5" 2" Now when you open InDesign & select Page Size, "Business Card" will be listed as an option with the dimensions already setup for you.
