Graphic Design Tip:

When putting a stroke around type in Illustrator without converting to paths, copy the type and paste it behind the original type. Stroke the type on the bottom layer to whatever size you want. This technique allows you to keep the type at the size you originally wanted without the type getting choked by the stroke.



Example: Both Rs are the same point size. The “R” on the left is stroked and the “R” on the right is copied and pasted behind then stroked.
